The Department of Environmental Economics comprises 10 doctoral students and postdocs, offers a team-oriented working environment and is internationally oriented. It deals with the application of economic knowledge to problems of biodiversity conservation and ecosystem service preservation, climate adaptation and new water scarcities. Methods and approaches include the development of integrated models that combine data and models from different disciplines and the assessment of environmental change through choice experiments.
In the Faculty of Environment and Natural Sciences, the following position is to be filled in the Department of Environmental Economics (Prof. Frank Wätzold):
Academic Staff Member (m/f/d) (for writing a doctoral dissertation)
Your area of responsibility includes in
particular:
Participation in teaching, including:
- Participation in the fulfilment of the teaching tasks of the department according to content and methodological specifications, currently for the Environmental and Resource Management degree programme
- Preparation, implementation and follow-up/evaluation of exercises
- Participation in the preparation of lectures and seminars as well as other administrative tasks related to teaching
- Development/updating of teaching materials, aids and collections of tasks
- Preparation, implementation and evaluation of oral and written examinations
- Participation in the supervision of student theses and study projects
Research work:
- Scientific work within the framework of the research focus of the department
- Collaboration in the preparation and implementation of third-party funded projects (BMFTR, DFG, industrial projects)
- Lectures and publications on the subject of research, preparation of contributions for reports and presentations
- including one's own in-depth scientific work in preparation for a doctoral dissertation or for the provision of additional scientific achievements to the extent of at least one third of the working time
- Other research-related administrative tasks
Your requirements profile:
- Completed scientific university degree (Master's degree/university diploma/equivalent) in a field relevant to the job (economics with a focus on environmental economics, economics, economics, environmental sciences with relevant economic components, agricultural economics, agricultural sciences with a focus on economics, industrial engineering, business mathematics)
The following knowledge is required:
- Confident user skills for relevant software, such as PowerPoint and Excel
- Very good knowledge of the English language, both written and spoken
The following knowledge is desirable:
- Good knowledge of the German language
- Interest in modelling or econometric/statistical analysis
You have the following personal skills:
- Ability to work scientifically, independent, flexibility, teamwork-oriented and good communication skills
