We are a young and dynamic technical university in the heart of Lusatia, developing practical, science-based solutions to addressmajor future challenges and global transformation processes.

Climate change and the loss of biodiversityare among the greatest and most urgentchallenges of our time - and agricultural landuse plays a central role in both crises. Thenewly established research group "MOTION-CB: Modelling Interactions for Sustainable Land Use Transformation - Climate Changeand Biodiversity" (https://www.b-tu.de/en/ag-landschaftsoekonomie) investigates how the landuse system can be transformed towards sustainability in the face of climate change.

As part of the project, two doctoral studentsand two postdocs work in an interdisciplinaryteam addressing key questions in land usetransformation. The group provides adynamic, collaborative and internationalwork environment with extensiveopportunities for scientific exchange - bothwithin the group and with leadinginternational scientists involved in the project.

The research group collaborates closely with the Chair of Environmental Economics with astrong focus on the theory and application ofeconomic methods for biodiversityconservation and land use adaptation (https://www.b-tu.de/en/fg-umweltoekonomie).

This offers further valuable opportunities forexchange with international doctoralstudents and postdocs.
